Hello there!
I was indecisive as to whether I should post a monthly TBR on my TikTok or on my blog, but I have decided to post my TBR on here for motivation (truthfully, I will need it).
It is currently Friday, August 5th, 2022. I finished reading the first Percy Jackson book in the series yesterday and it was a RIDE if I do say so myself.
This may come as a shock to many, but as a 23-year-old, this was my first time reading and completing The Lightning Thief - in my entire life. As I mentioned before, I didn't read the Harry Potter series nor any other 'big' series as a child because the books and series' overall intimidated me.
Nonetheless, I am glad I randomly decided to pick up The Lightning Thief from my bookshelf after having it sat there...staring at me...for two years. I read the book in just 3 days and I couldn't put it down. The writing, the storytelling, the characters, the quests, the Greek history, the plot twists and turns were phenomenal for my overachieving brain. I genuinely love reading children's books because it soothes some sort of inner child inside of me.
Wait a minute...this was my August TBR, not an essay!
Now for my August TBR, I have planned to read:
- Books 2, 3, 4, 5 of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series - Rick Riordan
- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - J.K. Rowling
- Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead - Elle Cosimano
- These Hollow Vows - Lexi Ryan
- Cinder - Marissa Meyer
and...
- Becoming Supernatural - Joe Dispenza
When I saw overwhelming, I meant it.
