I rate TOG 4.5 stars. I am still letting this book sink in.
This was the first book I ever read by Sarah J. Mass. Throne of Glass was unstoppable. The story-building, character development, incredible details, setting, and ultimately, the plot twists were top tier. As for someone who takes time to get into fantasy, this book hooked me in within the first 2 chapters which is quite rare for me.
I can't articulate how well developed the storyline and the characters were. Although there are several names, locations, and topics in the book that can become overwhelming - I still didn't get lost and confused like I initially thought. I was 100% immersed in this book and felt such intensity trying to finish it quickly, but also not rushing myself to.
I loved Celeana's character and her growth into becoming more intuitive with herself and become mentally, physically, and emotionally stronger. I genuinely thrived off her relationships with the other characters more than I thought I would.
Overall, for being the first book in this series, I am now locked in. I have already checked out the second book in the series and I am so excited to begin reading it. I recommend this book to anyone who is intrigued or who enjoys books with a strong female character lead, amazing detailed descriptions of the world building, who enjoys the enemies-to-lovers trope, and who LOVES a good plot twist (actually, many, for that matter). Give it a read! :)
